Description

Thanks very much for your great response and kind messages of help about yesterday's upload. Kevin - I think you are right- some type of Candelabra, I hope I'll be able to save seed. Anyway a close up of the flowers - you see the pic yesterday was quite deceptive.

when I copy-past Candelabra into google search-machine, I only see holders for candles.... ????? do you know a better or latin name for it ? even wikipedia only tells about candles, not flowers

Such great you now know the name. So it's indeed a kind of Primrose-Polyanthus. Hoping too you gather some seed from it. But I guess, it will anyway come again next year (?)

Yes the shuttlecock look is unusual and worth trying to save seed from. I started with seeds that can be saved for most of my veg now. Some of the open pollenated types are overlooked, and the price of F1 seed is getting silly. Do you use realseeds.co.uk they tell you how to save the next generation of seeds from all that they sell so you don't have to buy again! Not a good business stratagy but they have great principles, and some fantastic veg varieties.

Yes I'm sure they are candelabra and they are very easy to grow from seed. They die down over winter here but spring up in the springtime as fresh as ever. Mine just self seed en masse.
