My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Exquisite image, Tara! I'm not too keen on that word 'hike'! Just reading it nearly brought on my breathing problem.

I really like the composition of this shot. minimum but expressive of the expanse of the dunes and the winds that sweep over them. Postwork choices spot on.

Really nice one, Tara! I love the sepia tone - fits perfectly. Reminds me of when we visited White Sands National Park in New Mexico.... I climbed up a couple of really high dunes - not easy to do in sand!

Hey, isn't this from the general area that inspired Frank Herbert to write Dune and eventually the followup novels? I know that the dunes somewhere in the Pacific Northwest are the inspiration for Arrakkis. Well, regardless of any science fictional universe connections, this is a gorgeous and incredibly elegant shot. I love the sepia treatment: something you don't see to often in terms of this sort of photography, and that's what makes this stand out even more. This is perfect!

A super photo of the sand with its lovely clear edges.
jocko500
cool new look to sands

My first impression was soft, feminine almost sexual. The play of light and dark combined with the shape and texture of the seagrass and the sepia tone is masterful. Top marks.
