Description
Captured back on 4/10/06, at the semi-beautiful Fullerton Arboretum in beautiful Fullerton, California.
I love to anthropomorphize. Anyone else like to offer their own title? Keep it clean, though.
Resolution not the greatest in this pic, but it should pass muster.
I returned to the Arboretum last Sunday for more and sharper fotos, but found few if any turtles out of the water and/or sitting on rocks or the shore, possibly because it was cool, partly cloudy and windy, with no sun out to warm their carapaces and innards. But I did see some ducks meandering or swimming about. Several of the arcane and esoteric trees have disappeared since my last visit, and the area is in need of better maintenance. Still took pictures, but it was not as fruitful and satisfying as my first visit back in 2006.
Cheerybye, thankx for popping in, and for any and all favs and complimentary comments.

good shot. guess the duck wonder what the turtles are?

What a wonderful shot of this curious ducky interaction! There wasn't much happening waterbird-wise in my area last weekend either, I think it's nesting season here for most of them since we have had such a long cold spring. I can't speculate what's going on down there with your guys, but our turtles must be hardier because they're out when the temps get over 45 degrees, I think, regardless of sun or not!

"Are you two ducks? I forgot my glasses." Neat shot Harry. Sorry I've been AWOL. I'll work my way backwards through your postings in the next couple of days:)

Great catch Harry and for some reason a “threesome” popped into my mind. Keep in mind that I am 68 and really don't know what that means. :>( Dana

going backwards in your gallery again, though I'm going to the most recent right after this...I remember this when it went up & thought how natural you are with animal photography. Wonderful shot of these animals coming together, the caption is as good as any I could come up with, and the front turtle looks like it's saying "Hey---check THIS out!" (Maybe he's looking at you.) I do understand how some shots don't give the resolution one wants, though you probably know the reasons better than I do. (I'll be getting a new camera this fall, and I'll be learning the camera all over again.) As spontaneous as shots like these seem, I truly think they come with experience: I don't think one can get shots like these in their first outings. One develops a second-sense of how animals move, where they congregate, etc; and one positions themselves intuitively, knowing when to stop, where to stand, etc. Wonderful moment between 2 very different species, and the duck's head couldn't be in a better position if he posed for you. More fine work, Harry.
