Description
There's a road that parallels Highway 101 for several miles in Northern California called "Avenue of the Giants." It takes you back through tall forests, open river land, and seemingly everything in between.
There were several times when it felt like we were alone in the Redwoods. This was one of my favorite places. I loved the silence and the solitude.
Starting next weekend this place will be full of people, but we were fortunate enough to be there before the crowds. The tourist attractions weren't even open yet.

It's a gorgeous photo, but no photo can really do them justice. I've only been once and I had no words for the profound impact those trees have. Thanks for reminding me.
