Description

From the time the Oregon Coast was first settled during the 1850s well into the early 1900s, the only coastal town links with the outside world were via coastal shipping. These towns were cut off from the rest of the world by the coastal mountain range. Few roads existed outside early maritime/frontier town limits. Jetties were built in the late 1800s to keep shifting sands from placing ocean going ships into mortal peril as they sought safe entry into each coastal harbor. With every coastal harbor came the need for a lighthouse. With every lonely lighthouse...stories of ghostly happenings have increased over the years. This view is from the second story hall window of the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse keeper's house... Muriel is the resident lighthouse ghost of a young girl supposedly left by her sea-captain father in the nearby town of Newport. Should you be in for a short ghost story, click here, if you dare,...Muahahaha... Bill "Sweeping Lines" thumb_2205345.jpg

Quite a story, he types, the hair on his neck rising as he looks through the window, tapping his keyboard... Clive

Well, aside from the spectral presence breathing down my neck, I'd love to look up from my computer desk and see a view like this! Wonderful view and capture, Bill!

Kind of a Wuthering Heights ambience in this stellar shot, Bill; the stuff of spooky movies. Now if you could only capture the ghost of Muriel on your memory card, that would shake up your viewing audience to the max.
