Description

I was going through a bunch of photos from last summer's trip to Tampa, Florida, looking for a sky-cloud background for the Busted part 3 project. When I brought this photo up, I noticed something strange. In the upper right portion of the photo is.....something. What caught my attention is the fact that it appears to be lighted at the same angle as the clouds. This photo was taken as we drove along the causeway from the St. Petersburg area towards the Tampa airport. I was shooting some photos of the clouds for use as backgrounds. I do not recall seeing anything in the sky other than clouds at that time. I enlarged the photo to 200% in Photoshop - see inset - and whatever it is *seems* to have a discernable shape. Very odd... This is NOT a manipulation in any way. ....................... I'm working on Busted 5: Journey to Spackoine, Part 3 - hope to have it done this weekend, assuming I'm not abducted by aliens... Hope everyone is having a safe and relaxing Memorial Day weekend! As always, thanks for all your support and encouragement - you all are great!

Well mate! Unlike what most people HOPE or would like it to be its more likely a planet like Jupiter or something! I don't know AND it would be cool if it was a UFO BUT we all know.... ;-) They are all parked at Roswell! lol Good one Rod.. Rob

I'd call Mulder. It could be a plane blurred by motion. An object moving plus if your hand rolls just the slightest could make a long object appear round, and that's from my own experience. It does look rather odd, though, and like you said it seems to have shadow and lighting on it and is below the clouds. Hmmmm. Definitely call Mulder and Scully.

Amazing what the camera picks up isn't it. It is a superb capture of the clouds and the UFO is just an added bonus.

Great photo, really piques one's curiosity. Clearly an UFO, as the very phrase means something in the air that one can't identify. My dad, a cop, the least likely guy anyone could think of to see such things, saw one late at night off a country road. Wouldn't talk about it much, but it clearly affected him deeply. Odds are this and that were something entirely "normal" seen in abnormal circumstances, but you never really know, do you?

If that was up here in Canada I'd say it was a snowball thrown by someone with a damn good arm. A person is very lucky to ever see something that appears to defy a logical explanation; I think you were lucky that day!

Odd...it looks almost lunar. I think in scientific circles, that would be classified as a thing. And being of a scientific mindset myself, I must agree. It is most definitely a thing, quite possibly an object, though further testing might be required in order to determine that. At any rate, I like it; I like the mystery and the flights of fancy it can inspire. Those clouds are amazing. The whole image is just so well captured.

Rod, it is 12:15 am as I write this...I am trying to think of something smart-a to say but my mind has been dulled by the need for sleep, or a glass of wine, or a refreshing Vodka beverage. So, let me simply say WTF! Great sky my friend:)

Frame-pleasant-weekend.png Beautiful picture Rod. I had it in fullsizs view, the only thing that I can see, is that there are 2 UFO's (or maybe giant ORBS, which you can normally see only during the night) flying in the clouds.

It is too large or too close to be any planet in our solar system. Doesn't appear to be a solar flare. It most resembles the moon. I notice from your inset image that it appears to be partially blocked out on the bottom by the darkest cloud but it shows through the thinner cloud at the top. I believe it is the moon, but who knows. There seems to be more and more daytime occurrences of UFOs down that direction. Even large crowds have seen UFOs hovering in the skies over Mexico and the have video to prove it. Fascinating shot Rod.

I think it's just water vapour condensing to a peculair shape and being lit by the sun. If I allow myself to think anything else then I might start worrying - LOL Intertesting to see something ... well ... interesting like this Rod - COOL

Maybe they are really out there........ But sometimes things are not what they appear to be, I agree with mrestey, it could be the moon. Interesting photo non the less.
