Description

here is some food i ate in New Mexico. I was going down the road trying to follow the road map as I do not like to take the interstates. I feel like I missing the country when i do travel the interstates. On the back roads I find places like this and see things I would miss. Plus I can pull over off the road and take photos of a grave yard if I wish. I got lost and I was hunger too as it was around noon. I saw this place and did not know if it was open as the area was not too good. the area had run down houses and the building the restaurant was in did not look any better. But I saw a pick up truck pull in and a man went in so I stop and went in too. I ask and lucky the man who stop first and went in was there as he speck English good. he told me how to get to the road I wish. i thank him and ask him what the best food here. he told me do not get the chicken. so i order beef as you see. The beef they do not cut but pull it apart. I ate it this way a few times before. they ask if the food was to go and I say no I eating here. They was shock. I was the only one there at the time and when they brought me the food; the local people came in and they was all looking at me. i was the only white there and look like the only one for some time there. i do not know the town but the restaurant name is Jesic Mexico Lindo the last name may be the town name. Super good food there.

Looks good. :) Sometimes the little rinky-dink run-down looking places have the best food. (And at very affordable prices.) There are a handful of restaurants in my town which are like that too. You'll never see them listed as a 5-star, but they may be considered local secrets.

Thanks for telling this interesting story, because now I know what's on that plate on the fore-ground. I guess you had great adventures there in Mexico.

Nice photo Jock, and you sound a lot like me in that I too prefer to go the backroads to see what each area has to offer. It's funny how some of the best food is often found at the most out of the way places.
