Description

here is some food i ate in New Mexico. I was going down the road trying to follow the road map as I do not like to take the interstates. I feel like I missing the country when i do travel the interstates. On the back roads I find places like this and see things I would miss. Plus I can pull over off the road and take photos of a grave yard if I wish. I got lost and I was hunger too as it was around noon. I saw this place and did not know if it was open as the area was not too good. the area had run down houses and the building the restaurant was in did not look any better. But I saw a pick up truck pull in and a man went in so I stop and went in too. I ask and lucky the man who stop first and went in was there as he speck English good. he told me how to get to the road I wish. i thank him and ask him what the best food here. he told me do not get the chicken. so i order beef as you see. The beef they do not cut but pull it apart. I ate it this way a few times before. they ask if the food was to go and I say no I eating here. They was shock. I was the only one there at the time and when they brought me the food; the local people came in and they was all looking at me. i was the only white there and look like the only one for some time there. i do not know the town but the restaurant name is Jesic Mexico Lindo the last name may be the town name. Super good food there.

I do just like you whenever I have time. I love finding those little places where only the locals eat and the food is always "home-style." I have yet to eat in one of these places where the food is precooked, frozen or popped out of a can. Its always honest food. This makes me really hungry. Mexican food is a passion for me. I grew up on Tex-Mex and spent a lot of time in border towns before the killings began, and there is nothing like a plate food of good, home-cooked Mexican cuisine.

Until I read what you wrote, I couldn't make out what that was in the front of the dish. (Fryed worms maybe?) ;D LOL! So that's what pulled beef looks like. Excellent capture! And you are a brave man! ;)

Hot, spicy and fattening! Great shot of one of my favorite kind of food, Jock. LOL about you being the only one eating it there, and the only gringo in the place. They should have given you a free sombrero.

This does look more authentic than the meal that we had here when you stopped by.Sometimes, great adventures come out of getting yourself lost.Look at Chistipher Columbus, for example.

Some of the best Mexican food I ever had was in a little out of the way restaurant near San Antonio, Texas, I mean this spot had nothing around it, not even trees, but I saw several Highway Patrol cars stopped there and knew it had to be good. There a #1, #2, and #3 on the menu and that was it. Number 2 was great! Thanks
