Description

A photo montage of a day of APBA powerboat racing. It's sort of like sprint cars, but on water. Neat event to watch, and they even had open pits so you could get up close and see how they do things. At least if you're smart about it, stay out of the way, and don't touch anything, none of the racers seemed to mind. One racer was even glad to ham-it-up for a photo-op. (I can't claim to follow the sport enough for a name, but I'm sure somebody knows who he is.) This is at Lake Andrea in Pleasant Prairie, WI. At the park off of SR-165 and Highway H. They only have racing weekends there twice a year as far as I'm aware, so the event is a bit unique for this area. I'll try to get a some more photos on Monday. Since the spring event covers this extended weekend. I think I would have taken more photos, but the weather kept threatening rain that day and I'm not sure about how waterproof my equipment is. I started worrying more about that than getting more shots, and ended up leaving early.
