Description

I have been on a whirlwind business trip this week to Cape Town and Durban. The weather was rather miserable in Cape Town - typical winter rainy and windy conditions. On Tuesday we had lunch at this gorgeous small wine estate in Stellenbosch at an award winning restaurant. The cuisine was amazing. During a short burst of sun, I quickly ran outside and captured this image. Thank you for visiting my gallery and for any comments you wish to leave. Hugs Carin xx

At this moment, we (the Dutch people) wish we had this kind of wetness. Wonderful photo and atmosphere! rs

You did great by taking that run, as taking this stunning mood picture, dear Carin. Fantastic colors and scene. Wonderful lines and depth in it too.

It not only seems, as if clearing rain produces magical images - but it is a common fact that the colours are so much more refreshed, afterwards. It was well worth of you to take that opportunity quickly - because this really looks so inviting and I am happy for you enjoying the fine cuisine etc. Charming composition Carin, BB

Stellar photo on the run, Carin. Neat barrel, but the decor looks rather neglected. And I notice that your business trips often involve dining at posh restaurants.

I agree with blondeblurr, colors are alway so intense after a rain, and this is gorgeous proof of that. Everything looks so clean and so brilliant; but then you do that whole brilliant thing quite well. I really love the shapes and textures in this as well as the idea that there's wine somewhere nearby! I'll have to try some of it. I've sorta, kinda, recently had Georgian wine (oh, man that stuff is good!) and I'm really quite keen to try different vintages from the other side of that equator thingie (in their native environment, no less) and well, this is one more bit of inspiration! This is gorgeous!

South African wines are starting to make their presence known here in the States. I recognized the Stellenbosch name and as a budding vinophile my eye was drawn to the casks in the back. Beautiful image, well worth braving the elements.
