Description

Here is my version of the milkmaid's home. The original painting by Vermeer only shows the milkmaid, leaving to imagination the rest of the room. In my vision the maid is preparing bread milk for the owner of the house, a wealthy merchant of the Dutch East India Company. I dont pretend to be period exact with some objects in the room, there are various anachronisms. It is a play with light and composition. Many thanks for your visit, comments and favorites.
