Some of you know me as 3D newbie chemicalX here, but I decided to focus my gallery on my new passion in life - photography. I've been dabbling around in photography for a few years now and I've fallen head over heels in love with it. My partner, Shane, got me a Canon EOS 20D for my birthday and started me on a path of obsession! A path that I would like to share through this gallery. The chemicalX gallery will stay up to showcase my 3D stuff and if I do ever get back into it, I'll upload those things there, so keep an eye on that too. I appreciate any feedback I get, so if you have any comments or critique (be it good or bad - as long as it's done in a "civilised" way), please do tell me - it's the only way that I'm going to get better at this. Also, eventhough I don't say thank you to everyone on an individual basis, I do appreciate all the feedback and comments you guys give me. Unfortunately 'rosity makes it quite a mission to say "thanks" to a comment. So just because I don't thank everyone individually, doesn't mean that I am not grateful for all the feedback. Thank you to all of you. If you would like to see more of my stuff, you can check out my gallery on dA. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my gallery. Take care, Yak

You know, if you string your images together (particularly the ones in a series) they produce a nicely static movie: okay, a highly stylized, static movie without dialogue, but still it's a wonderful effect. The lighting in this is what draws me the most, as does the POV. This is one of those shots that makes me recall the better elements of movies like Alien 3...a largely disjointed, muddle of a film with some of the best, moody, industrial lighting I've seen and an amazingly haunting score. This has nothing to do with that monster-movie disaster (though it's still watchable) but at the same time, I get the same pleasant feelings from your use of light and the rough, concrete textures. The muted colors are quite nice as well...it's as if there all sorts of implied intensity, just waiting for the right person to come along and see it. Really excellent work.
