Description

As I told you, we have rooks in the garden for the first time ever. We have had this place since 1971 and never saw rooks on the lawn, so this is something special for us. We have had crows, yes, but never rooks. They usualy dont go so near houses. Atleast not here. They all have their nests at a purlin 2-3 Kilometers from here. We pass them every time we go to town. Yesterday a mom rook tried to pull out a worm from the lawn, but the worm didnt want to let go, so the mom began to screw it up by walking around and around and she succeeded. How clever of her :-) Have a lovely weekend. Here weather is peaceful, no wind and cloudy and we expect rain, but it hasnt arrived yet. Thank you so much for viewing, comments and favs to my previous post. It is Highly appreciated :)

Indeed quite unusual to have rooks in the garden (although we have an occasional invasion too...) You made a fantastic homogeneous collage, Helle, I like it very much ! Enjoy your werek-end, rain or not ! :~)

How interesting! We have no rooks here at all. I've just read a Wiki on them, and it says they're quite intelligent, engaging in tool use when necessary. It doesn't surprise me that your rook found a way to get that worm. They seem to have a puzzle-solving sort of brain!

Rooks. Very European! We don't have them in Chicago; we have red-winged blackbirds. We have crows and grackles and starlings, but no rooks. Oh well, at least I can see them here, and I find your collage to be very delightful. Birds are such interesting people and these are very, very elegant. I like this quite a lot and it's making a trip into my favorites! This is really super!
