Absolutely stunning! I love that it's an "urban" shot, but it looks so much like so many other things: the curve of those highways looks organic; the crystalline lights look like jewels, or stars; the pervasive darkness looks friendly and comforting and not ominous in any way at all. The crisp clarity is astonishing and overall, this is a superb shot. I love your overall focus on the curves and lines, highlighted by the city lights as city lights need to be seen: from a distance, where you don't see city dirt and (if you're in Chicago) rats. This is marvelous!

Oh my word! This is gorgeous! You certainly had the perfect vantage point Reinhard!...and with a pocket cam no less! I used to love flying into NYC at night when the city lay before you like so many strands of jewels. I would get a catch in my throat because it would be so very beautiful. Just a wonderful image. It goes in my favorites for sure!

This really is a very special view and a most exceptional shot. The golden glow from the freeway loop around the inner city is blissful. When taking a photo from this distance, it is easy to image that the streets hold the same beauty as the lights seen from this perspective do. Most stellar.

Photographically very engaging. Chipka's words are my words...he expresses the atmosphere and mood you've captured so well. The one and only time I've been in Bankok was in 1966 for one week,...45 years has made a great change. The lifelines you show us here did not exist then... On a flight to Korea about ten years ago I met the man who manufactured most of the forms for the concrete pillars that support these elevated roads. They were made of cardboard and could be stripped away after the concrete dried.
