Description
Schools are closed, and having time to kill can be an irksome task. These people in Padova looked as if they were waiting for someone or something, so time-consumed that they didn't even bother to chit-chat the day away.
Thanks for your kind comments.

I can remember being bored when I was young. Time seemed to stretch out indefinitely in front of me. It's when time starts getting short that boredom rarely visits. I'm not so pessimistic about the young, nor can I think that my generation has so much to pat themselves on the back about. Excellent candid shot. I like the lighting and the way the smoker is looking out of the shadows at you.

Non sembrano molto interessati al loro avvenire, sembrano piuttosto distaccati ! Ma l'avvenire se lo devono costruire , non li va a cercare ! Grazie per le vibrazioni positive , Sandra , fanno sempre bene !

This is a wonderful candid shot. A great 'slice-of-life' image. It seems the problems are common all through the industrialized world. Our bridges and roads are crumbling, the poor go hungry and there are fewer and fewer jobs available. Meanwhile the rich and powerful continue to grab more for themselves while telling us nothing can be done because we are broke.

Good image, very good title, young people should be doing million of things, they should be busy creating wonderful things, life is too short to do nothing

Ah boredom! Wished upon in busy times and only lightly remembered.

I cannot find any crit for boredom here at all, to me it seems very relaxing and they are probably making plans for later in the day - and enjoying the freedom and the company of each other, it seems to be part of life ... ephemeral capture, BB

How modern! How atavistic as well. It's funny that in a world in which there's plenty to do, economic situations not withstanding, humans tend to gravitate (especially now) to doing nothing: much like our primate ancestors who spend lots of time fending for themselves and then doing nothing for long periods of time. Funny how that works. There's also something incredibly fascinating about this shot as I suspect whole levels of activity (and communication) taking place. It's always a bit shocking to learn that young people apparently engaged in doing nothing, in absolute silence, are engaged in an odd sort of collective "sharing." It would seem (in some instances) that they're "sitting" as the habit is called in Russia. Sitting generally involves a level of sharing that is often not apparent to outside observers...you have to be a part of the group in order to recognize that the group is actually doing something. Or not. At any rate, shots like this are so incredibly interesting to me, because they're so telling, but what they actually tell is sometimes open for quite vigorous debate. Of course, these could be the next generation of cyberkids...their apparent "stillness" is just what we see, when in actuality, they're spending quite a lot of time in each others' heads, or receiving endless downloads from the Mothership.
