Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

A beautiful set of pics Bill. In case you didn't know the reason that the big firs have soft bark is that they originate from rain forests where lightning is a hazard to them being so tall, so nature gave them this soft bark so that in the event of a lightning strike the bark would shatter off and leave the tree unscathed!

How very exciting! It looks so magical, and even dwarfs that monsterous vehicle!

How the mighty have fallen. Think how they survived for a thousand years, then were whacked down by man. Ouch!!! The images are sad, but so interesting...and well done, too. I like the collage way of presenting them.

Wonderful collage, Bill

They're so beautiful, and looks like they're sprouting? Or is that seedlings that have fallen and are now growing on them? Wonderful greens and a great collage!

Beautiful. Like being in a cathedral where the roof is so high it seems to not exist. Sadly, the redwoods became an "in thing" in the orient. Some 20 years ago there was quite a row about a logging company that had been purchased by an oriental company just to cut down redwoods to build houses with as the latest prestige thingy. I'm sure glad they were stopped from logging our redwood preserves. I love these photos - stumps, ot whole trees. So awe inspiring and majestic! :-)

Looking at these photos, I couldn't help but think of Fangorn Forest in Lord of the Rings. This is just majestic! It boggles the mind to think of stumps 10 feet high. It must be an incredible experience to walk among these trees! Super collage and photos, Bill!

Deep lush greenery dominates this stellar collage of arboreal wonders, both old and new, Bill. Excellent historical narrative also in this posting.
