Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Good photo showing the Skyraider's large capacity for armament, and wide range of diverse armament at that! Thanks for the link to the article about Fisher - another man doing what was necessary to save a fellow pilot's life. A lot of people rise above fear and concern for themselves under extra-ordinary circumstances. It's wonderful to see/read about examples like that! Keep up the good work! :-)

Wow, awesome collage and story!! These heroic pilots also saved many lifes of the ground forces, which I was one, by directing air support in low level flying.

Nice Skyraider shot, Bill! Quite an assortment of "ouch" he's carrying, there!

Fantastic collage. I agree with Rod on the potential payload on the A-1E. Thanks for the link Bill - a great read and a gutsy call to go in and pick up Myers. Also nice to hear about him being able to be standing there to receive his Medal of Honor. Most receive it posthumously. Dana

WOW! I suppose this is what you could call fully loaded...and I have no idea what some of those impressive things do (I'll follow the link after commenting.) Well, I'm sure that the end result of all of those additional options involves pyrotechnics and impressive, thunderous booming noises, since humans are exceptionally good at making things that eventually go Boom, or at least thump. It's one of our dubious gifts...if you wanna blow something up, get a human to do it. This is marvelous and I love the various angles. The light is fantastic. All around, this is a marvelous series of "reference shots" and great stand-alone photography. Also, with the right amount of postwork (and removal from the original context) some of those nicely explosive, wing-mounted thingamajigs would make excellent spacecraft, with just a touch of photoshop of GIMP work, and for me that just adds one more note of interest to an already interesting series of shots. Heck, it even looks like this plane comes equipped with railguns! What's not to like about that?

EXCELLENT SHOTS
