My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Wonderful warm lighting on those supports; a great shot, well seen!

Great geometric composition & use of light & shadow. Is this open to the public or are you a VIP?

This is a masterpiece of light and shadow, texture and shadow, and a wonderful bit of blue excitement just over there. I love the pervasive darkness and then nice, warm light. It has a delicious starkness that just lends itself to a story concerning people in a space like that. And with me being me, I have to also say that I love the way those support struts recall the support struts for the launch pods belonging to the Galactica...finest of the battlestars...a Grand Old lady!

Wow, this is really impressive. The light, shadow, and details are wonderful, but the thought of what they are is truly incredible. I'd love to see the whole thing someday!

Stunning pic! It would have made a superb venue for the Jazz dance company we went to see last night... gritty, powerful, eyeboggling..

Fantastic settings, beautiful shot!

interesting picture with very moody lighting largest wooden building in the world >>> with concrete supports so more the largest wooden "covered" building in the world ;-) ... for this title should be made entirely of wood ...IMHO adding a comparison (plane, human) would help to understand the dimensions

Seems that they have to carry SLOT! WOW! they are Huge. Looks so abandoned.

lovely composition

Love the composition - how the angle of the concrete supports are repeated in the blue window or whatever it is in the back to the right. Love the lighting and the almost sepia look.

Super cool Dierbaar! I like the sepia treatment. Together with the masterful light, this is a winner!

beautiful composition and strangely eerie

Excellent for all the reasons commented upon above...and particularly yes, to light and form with an aire of mystery. I'll go back to my file from here and see if I can add something more about this amazing building. It would be fun to go there again ignorinng the museum's planes and take the building on as a subject by itself. What am I saying? Ignore the planes? ...lol.

I wouldn't be surprised if a zombie was hidden somewhere ! Great capture. PS : thanks for having visited my gallery and for giving me the opportunity and the pleasure to discover your art.

Looks quite spooky Tara :o).Love the lighting . Mick

Not a whole lot left to say. The light from the windows emphasizes the mass of the pillers and the ice blue patch at the back gives the image an element of mystery. It looks like part of the ceiling is missing from what must have been an epic work of carpentary.

OMG! What an irresistable photo studio this would make! Just look at that light! Another architectural masterpiece, Tara!
