Description

Picture taken in Latour (20-05-2011). For sure, this is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. But the exact species is not so easy to determine... After some research (and the help of Stephane Vitzthaum, co-autor of the book ”Insectes remarquables de Lorraine et d’Alsace”), we all think it’s the Lesser Marbled Fritillary (Brenthis ino), especially because it was found in an area where the Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) is present ! Another possibility would have been the Marbled Fritillary (Brenthis daphne...

C’est certain, ce papillon est un nacré, mais lequel ? Après quelques recherches (et l’aide de Stephane Vitzthaum, co-co-auteur du livre ”Insectes remarquables de Lorraine et d’Alsace”), nous pensons qu’il s’agit du Nacré de la sanguisorbe (Brenthis ino), principalement parce que le papillon se trouvait dans une zone où la Reine-des-prés est présente ! Une autre possibilité aurait été le Nacré de la ronce... Pour comparer les différents Nacrés de Wallonie, voir ici ! Thank you very much for your comments on my previous upload:
