Description

To answer some questions from yesterday’s posting (stairs). The upstairs was office space for the US National Parks System. There was a beautiful library that was roped off at the door but you could still look in. A room with a slide show about the area and the National Parks in the area. A gift shop with reproductions of early colonial American and British items, postcards and tourist items. And lastly, a room with antique muskets, swords, a cannon and mannequins dressed in late 1700s uniforms and dress. I did take a shot of the cannon. The legs belong, to a display, of a British Light Infantry private, His Majesty’s Fifth Regiment of Foot, Northumberlands. Thanks for stopping by my gallery, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Cool capture of this antiquated cannon, Dana. I like the way they inscribed the barrels of these weapons of war with such quaint designs.

My wife thanks you for the picture, but I don't think cannons are her bag as the comment was is that all, like Andrea she liked the stairs best. She did say her father was in the Northumberland fusiliers not way back the though.

A beautifully engraved cannon that looks as though it could do a lot of damage at some stage, hopefully never again. A lovely clear capture.
