Description

...still running around in the new house I've been posting from during the last couple of days. ...the family having this house built selected the site for its location near Seattle AND to take full advantage of the view. They purchased a single story mid-1960s vintage house to tear down and replace with a modern three story house with an open deck on a flat roof. ...this is the view of the Seattle skyline looking southeast from the new second floor master bedroom...those of you who know Seattle will recognize the Space Needle beyond the top of Queen Anne Hill, the tallest buildings downtown and a slice of Elliott Bay. ...we are hoping to go back to this house before long and shoot almost-finished images. The move in date for the new owners is sometime in late July. Bill P.S. Both times we've been taking progress pictures in this house it has been grey and drizzly outside severely limiting the view. On a clear day Mount Ranier is visible to the northeast. I have yet to see it from here :-) "Upstairs Light" thumb_2218155.jpg

WOW! What a view and what a room! Of course, being from Chicago, I'm amazed that a city can be hilly. Chicago is so flat that if someone comes to visit you on a Sunday and then they walk home, you can still see them on Tuesday (if none of the buildings got in the way.) That is how flat Chicago is. I've seen bumpier pool tables! This is a gorgeous shot: so elegant!

Really looks like a dream house. It's nice when people can build a house just the way they want it.

But I can tell from the angle of the view of the city that the mountain will be visible when it's clear, and what a view it will be! Lucky people!

I'm really looking forward to going back! What do you bet we get an invite to the first party once they've moved in ... :P I would love to get a couple of shots from the roof on a sunny day when the mountain is out!

What an extraordinary, spectucular view......... I love it...........would love to get up every morning to view this scene as well as giving it a view before going to bed at night.... How wonderful it would be to see something like this.......... Love those windows...but I wonder how come they aren't bay windows... oh well it is there money.....so who am I to say? Maybe they could come to Ky and re do my 4 rooms downstairs at my moms house I inherited....oh and just a tad bit of carpet in the living room hall bedroom and dining room..............Just teasing....of course...........but it must be nice to have that kind of money $$$$ to be able to do something like this and what you love as your doing it........... Can't wait to see the finished version I bet it will be amazing...........maybe they will throw a party......LOL:) Awesome image............. Hugs Susan~

Very nice photo, catching both the bare (but yet very roomy and nice looking) interior, and the view, which add a lot - no need for paintings on these walls! Now, is this north west of the Univ. of Washington? I was there in 1978, but can't remember the geography exactly. The lower part of the university was on the water (Union Bay, Portage Bay), but the upper part was on a step cliff-like hill. I was received like a king. Unfortunately, fate had would have it otherwise - my professor died shortly after my arrival, so I had to leave.

Certainly a spectacular view - WHITE is just so grandiose - there is no need to furnish it with too much, IMHO - less is more! and besides the outside has been brought in. fabulous image, BB
