“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Bottom left looks strangely like Cape Disapointment, Ilwaco. Of course the center is Hecate. Nicely done.

lovely lighthouses!

Same function, certain similarities, yet so different. Nice collage giving insight into the architecture and choices made based on location and landscape. Most interesting with the light house "homes" - wonder what some of them looked like inside. Looks like the keeper didn't have to go outdoors - a real blessing, considering how bad it could be in inclement weather. Keep up the good work! :-)

When I was a child we had the National geographic mag, and I remember well pictures of the Oregon coast and some of these lighthouses, and thinking one day I should love to go there. It won't happen now. Of course nobody normal travelled abroad in those days, unless it was to kill people!

Yeh! I remember each one....great to have them in one place, nice for compare and contrast. The Heceta Head Lighthouse looks like a cut down version of the one at New Brighton.....great collage Bill, got to be a fave..10/10

Superb clarity and ambience in these exceedingly exquisite photos of the elegant lighthouses, Bill. I didn't realize they came in such a variety of shapes and sizes. I always imagined them as being like #3 in the middle strip of shots, all tall and slender.

Lighthouses are immensely fascinating, and a wonderful glimpse into a bygone era. I wonder what it was like to actually be a lighthouse keeper and to live in one of these puppies...well, in the house part and not the tower, though I would imagine going up to the tower could become something of a drag, once the novelty wears off...but for a lighthouse keeper, was there ever any novelty? These are gorgeous and this is a superb collage!

A wonderful collage of these very beautiful lighthouses and how lovely to look back on from your trip. Excellent captures of them all.
