Description

This is a Mandelbrot set fractal, rendered in 3D using Frac This is a Mandelbrot set fractal rendered in 3D with FractalWorks, a high performance fractal renderer for Macintosh computers. The image was saved directly from FractalWorks as a color anaglyph. You will need red/cyan 3D glasses to view it properly. You can purchase FractalWorks in the Mac App Store The image was rendered at very high magnification (plot width 5.4E-14) where rounding errors start to cause the image to get noisy. In this case I wanted the crinkled look that resulted. FractalWorks also includes the ability to add a 3D sine wave to the fractional iteration value. A subtle 3D sine wave was added to this image.
