Description
This is the European Blackbird. Mum is feeding currants to one of her babies on my lawn yesterday morning, hence the dew. This was taken through the conservatory window. The odd feathers around are from a Starling which had been taken by a Sparrow Hawk.
The blackbird is very common in the UK and is a prominent member of the dawn chorus in Spring and Summer with a beautiful warbling song. for comparison it is the same size as the American Robin.
Have a good Saturday. Jeff.

Great capture. SO cute they are. Right now we have a young rook wandering around in our garden and goes to the birdfeeding tree. He has one feather sitting wrong, so we can recognize it. It has been here for days. I guess it is the same rook, as the on a mom fed from the birdfeeding tree a week ago. Now his name is Sofus LOL !

See you have your 300mm zoom working on this shot. Well done! I have a very difficult time holding my 300mm still enough to get crisp shots...even with IS (image stabilization) turned on. But it has worked great for me on bird shots using a tripod. Here was my bird blind setup.
