Waves of music and mass euphoria washed over her. Hisssssss... There were snakes in the grass. Hundreds of them. One coiled around her arm and sunk its fangs deep into her wrist. She had vague recollections of a festival-goer hoisting her out of the writhing mass of snakes and dragging her to a portable toilet to urinate. Only...she wasn't at the Love Parade at all. She was in some girl's apartment in Cologne. She had arrived with her boyfriend Jack two days earlier. She tried to wake herself up, but the compulsion to stay asleep was just too strong. She let the waves of drowsiness overwhelm her. Down, down she sank. Back into the blackness. Hisssssss...
