WOW! What I really like about this image is the abstraction it's achieved, that little paint spiral that appears on so many engine intake turbine thingies, and the wonderful details that swim all around this image. The crop and orientation of that crop gives this a nice "book cover" sort of feel too. I've noticed that I'm particularly drawn to books (Usually by Vintage) that feature images very similar to this, though Bantam Books did a little bit of super-tweaked images (with loads of filter work) back when Photoshop was the new thing and simply everyone had to imitate the magazine Mondo 2000 and filter, tweak, and layer everything. For a time, you could judge a book by its cover in that a really super-tweaked image on the cover, usually meant that the story contained in the book itself was...well...layered. Funny how that worked. Needless to say, I miss those days and I love this image for its own reasons. This is really nice work. I also love the fact that Rolls Royce makes flying things too! As does Mercedes, if I'm not mistaken.

If I not mistaken, this would be the spinner of a turbine on a Rolls Royce RB211? On what? Well it could anything Boeing or ANYTHING flying! lol Engines are fitted to choice of the airline.. Good work, Bill.. Great use of filters.. Rosy was fascinated by these slowly turning in the wind at Heathrow.. Rob
