I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

Great shots of this lovely, venerable aircraft. They have been around a long time. I used to watch them during the Berlin Airlift taking off and landing for over a year.

Love the Dak! (Dakota/Skytrain/C-47/DC-3, etc). When I was taking flight training back in the mid-80's, the Transport Canada hangar next to the flight school had a DC-3 they flew regularly. Maybe that's what initially hooked me on radial engines?

Very cool. It is a distinctive sound isn't it, kind of like it's going soooooo slow it might just fall out of the sky!!!!

A graceful and lovely vintage bird that refuses to go away.... thankfully! An excellent shot of this beautiful DC3! I remember when I was stationed at Udorn AFB in Thailand during the Vietnam conflict, we had a couple of "re-purposed" C-47s. Nicknamed "Spooky" or "Puff the Magic Dragon" they were painted black, and had a whole lot of hurt hanging out the port side if I remember right...

You sound thrilled and rightly so. Isn't it fun when a postable photo object comes to you right on your own doorsteps? This happens at out house too...we live 3 miles from two outstanding and flyable collections of WWII and earlier aircraft. The boys above have done a great job identifying the museum's C-47. I got a ride in one one day while in Vietnam (1965)...they were antiques then...but did a great job there.

I'm such an oddball. I saw (and read the title to this) and saw the picture; and my first thought was oh, I hope it didn't poop...and then reality kicked back in and I realized that if something comes out of any sort of conceivable bombardier door, it's not airplane poo. So having gotten over my brief disappointment that airplanes in this world don't have digestive systems--and thus the need for waste-evacuation procedures--I sat back and marveled at the details you caught on this baby! WOW! You even caught the propellers perfectly: NOT an easy thing to do...this is a fantastic collage. I wish interesting things flew over my house. We just get kinda wimpy looking Southwest Airline jets going into Midway. Around here, those are dead common! C-47s possess a much higher coolness factor.
