Description

Well, Bridalveil Falls in Yosmemite at any rate! You can see how it got its name; that water cascading over the sheer granite cliff. This year the falls in the park are HUGE, late snowmelt, rain, all the conditions for a spectacular show. I tried to get a shot from the bottom and only got soaked in the process. The sweet path up there I walked last year was under 6" of water..but I kept going. Man, is that water COLD, but I didn't stop. When I finally got there, all I could see was MIST. Lovely sight, but not quite the one I went for!! Still, worth every soaking minute because the sound is incredible; the ground even shakes!!

All dressed in white...and thundering down. Must have been an awesome experience maneuvering your way around the awesome falls in order to take a few good shots, Marilyn. But as a water lover, you probably enjoyed the experience.

WOW! How much electricity can this puppy produce!? I'm such a nerd. Gorgeous shot. I love the way you captured the spray pattern as the water is falling, and I can imagine the sound this baby made. I like the sound of a good waterfall. This is an incredible shot. Not a surfer or an athlete anywhere in it and yet it's an action shot. Nature provides the best action after all, and you're so darn good at catching it. And I just thought: water is definitely your element, and you always get such great ocean and lake photos and so I figure going to a river with a waterfall would be like going back to your roots and getting in touch with The Source...and if it were me, I'd probably feel like the Mother Ship just called me home. Don't you just love that feeling? You captured it here, and I love those huge slabs of rock (granite? you caught defining the wall faces.
