Description

This is another shot from the Weird-Angles-R-Us File. It was made laying on my stomach in the street. HA HA ! Just kidding. I haven't been able to lay on my stomach in 5 years! It was actually made standing on my head.. (Rim shot.) The process of making these low shots is highly complicated (not really)and requires a great deal of manual dexterity (yeah, right), or at least that you brace your cane correctly and don't have too much to drink. It actually WAS made in the middle of the road, while my sister Kate watched out for on coming cars. So much for living dangerously. Photographed somewhere on Tanager Road in South Venice, Florida on June 16, 2011. As always, thanks to everyone who views and comments on my gallery.

Well, glad to hear you survived. Photography can be a dangerous business especially in the middle of the road!!!! ;) It is an interesting ants eye view!

It's sad to see your photography has finally reached an 'all time low'!!!!!!

Corey, that's the house next door. Never looked at it from that angle before. Must be what it looks like to our resident black snake. Really different view!

I've seen trees from this POV, once while...oh, never mind...let's just say that it involves a taxi cab, the Polish language, copious amounts of vodka, and the neighbor's lawn. Anyway...all of that aside, this is a great shot and a distinct perspective, and I'm glad to see your use of POV manipulations implying that you were standing on your heard while laying on your stomach. Nice. Oooh, and there's a resident black snake down there? Did you get pictures of that particular Florida resident? Oh, and don't worry, I can't lay on any of my stomachs either...hmmm...did I just reveal my oh-so-mysterious non-human origins? Anyway, this is a great, nicely unique pic. I like it. I especially like that Palm Tree that decided to be a little bit different and reach over thataway a bit.

It makes me realises how dangerous it is for insects to cross a road surface like this. Like the Giant's Causeway!

Kind of a gecko's view of the street. A very dangerous place for any small mammal, reptile or insect unless of course they each have their sisters watching out for traffic. Maybe they do. How would we know unless we search around when something is crossing?

Ha! I have photographs of Chip lying on his stomach in Grant Park pointing his camera between the pavers at ants or something. (We were relaxing on those park benches in the sunshine, do you remember (?) with all those brides running around. I love this pov! It makes a very ordinary scene something extraordinary. The dof gradient (or whatever you call it), lens to grass, is great! Nothing middle-of-the-road about THIS shot!
