Description

Across the street, from our favorite hiding place, in the White Mountains, of New Hampshire, is a brook that is fed from melting snow and spring water. This photo was taken two days ago so most of the snow has melted. Surrounded by trees, there seems to be a layer of fog, all day long. During the Spring thaw, the bolder, on the other side, was pushed down the brook, with enough force, a log in front of it. They hit the tree, with enough force, to knock the tree down and to provide us with this scene. I can tell you that none of that was there last year. On July 5th the water was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit or 10 degrees Celsius. Zoom might help. Thanks for stopping by my gallery, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Great capture, Dana this shot reminds me of a river on the Puget Sound - the Duckabush! in the middle of a very hot August the river was a mere 40F dive in at your own risk

And at this moment it's about 95 fahrenheit degrees in my patio at 5:30pm. Terrific impact and water action in this shot, Dana. Water unleashed is most powerful.

There is something just so right about brisk, cold water in a brook in July! And this is a perfect, relaxing, yet invigorating shot! I can hear the babble--more like a prolonged lisp. I love the trees and the dappled light with just a hint of fog. A whisper of fog always adds so much and you captured this brilliantly.

Water is a powerful force; little creeks that often are barely moving turn into raging rapids when snow melts. I saw a lot of these last week in Yosemite. Great shot of your spot!!

I would love to be there today watching your trees and that bolder, unfortunately I have to go to the dentist to have a tooth out so I will have to pass. Great shot, I have always respected the power of water be it river or sea.

Ah, Dana...thank you for sharing with the world here on Rendo the beauty of our little state of New Hampshire! Few know of the beauty of a state that boasts not only mountains, but sea shore also...plus many beautiful lakes and babbling brooks. This shot reminds me of a condo we used to rent each fall in Lincoln, New Hampshire. The balcony of the condo looked out over a beautiful little river and we loved sleeping at night and hearing the sounds of the rushing water. Looking forward to you sharing more of our beautiful state! I have been sick lately with mono so haven't been able to be out and about taking pics of New Hampshire...I'll rely on you to show others the beauty of where we live!!!
