Description
My visit to Scotland included a hike through the Great Glen and a town called Spean Bridge. A wrong turn put me on top of a small mountain, with a fantastic view of the Highland region and this monument. British Commandos and US Army Rangers were trained in this area between 1942 and 1945. The plaque says �In memory of the officers and men of the Commandos who died in the second World War 1939-1945. This country was their training ground�. Photo taken May 1995 and scanned. I have to say that the people of Spean Bridge were wonderful to me - as was everybody I met. during my three weeks in Great Britain. Zoom will help a little.

Ah, the Commando monument at Spean Bridge. I know the area well. I have been searching for weeks now for shots I took of it but no joy! A wonderful shot Dana, brings back many memories.
