Description
Captured 12/20/09, at the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, on the beautiful campus of California State University Long Beach, in beautiful Long Beach, California.
Much better detail via ZOOM.
Oh, dear, dear, dear. After uploading a couple of koi collages over the past two days, I retreated back into my files to see if I had any more koi folders, and voila! I discovered a long forgotten treasure-trove of 195 pics that I had taken right on the cusp of the Winter Solstice, meaning that I had snapped the shots during the middle of a day when the sun was at its lowest elevation of the year, which is in direct contrast to the two previous collages of fotos that I had snapped right after the Summer Soltice - when the sun is at its highest elevation of the year - meaning tons of bright water and koi scale reflections to contend with. In brief, I believe I got much better color, contrast and lighting results with the above pictures than I achieved with the last two collages, although they were all snapped around the same time of day. And my apologies if I have confused anyone.
The photos above were taken with my now defunct Konica Minolta Z3 point-and-shoot, without the aid of a polarizer. In any event, I think you'll like these better.
Cheerybye, thankx for popping in, and for any and all favs and complimentary comments.

I like both but this one show cases the Koi better. (And I kinda recall you posting some koi pics years ago...) I love Koi~ Mother Nature showing most daring color and patterns! =)

These photos are beautiful Harry and make a wonderful montage. I see in the bottom frame that there are a few young fry and that is good news. Dana

The one on the right in the 3rd pic looks to have a ring through it's nose with that well placed bubble!

Another beautiful array of these koi; I loved my koi pond when I had one, but unfortunately so did the racoons! Well done, Harry!

Beautiful Koi and great captures! The first two are my favorites. Lovely big white one in the first image. The one swiming near him seems to be looking over at him in admiration. I like how the white koi is serenely traveling in a sea of calm, while just beyond him are ripples galore. I love the yellow one in the next shot. He's concentrating on getting that bit of food in front of him. Excellent detail of his fins. I think the large one in that same shot has the prettiest markings of them all. Wonderful shots!
