Description

California Sea Lions sunning themselves on a buoy. This was another shot from vacation in Seattle. Taken while on a boat around the San Juan islands, north of Seattle. There is a company in Friday Harbor, WA that offers whale watching tours. We did see a couple of Minke whales, I have shots of a fin here and a back there, but nothing that looks like the brochure of the Orca breaching the water. It was a great trip anyway; for about a hundred fifty bucks or so I got a four our boat ride out toward Canada and a lot of nice landscape shots, and a sunburn. And this shot. Eventually, ol' girl just gave up on finding a spot.

What a great capture! Nicely done, getting a moving animal from a moving boat.
