Description

This is the President's home, at the University of Stirling, Stirling, Scotland. It is called The Castle. I didnt ask if it was an official name or a nickname. I had climbed this hill to get a better view of the William Wallace Monument - tomorrow's post. Phototaken May 1995 and scanned. Zoom will give you a little better view. Thanks for stopping by my gallery, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

What a wonderful photo! The light and the framing are perfect. I always think it unfair that those on the biggest salaries also get the best perks.

Beautiful capture! The lighting is superb. It brings out the soft green landscape but has strong contrast too in the nearby branches and shadowed trees on the hillsides. I love the shadows of the individual trees, the patterns of the tree-lines and the depth of the image. Wonderful framing and POV. Beautiful home in such gorgeous surroundings with a river nearby too! I doubt presidents of the University of Stirling resign until they absolutely have to. I'm enjoying your series on Scotland tremendously. I visited the Battlefield of Culloden many years ago. It was on a bleak, gray, and windy day, which fit the history and atmosphere of the place like a glove. There is a song by Alastair McDonald that very hauntingly tells of the battle called "Culloden's Harvest". I looked for a version by him on youtube, but didn't find it. There is a beautiful version by Deanta here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObbFaxvTRWw

Sterling framing of the legendary castle, and sharp focus, along with various shades of greenery for as far as the eye can see, Dana.

A very beautiful capture of this fabulous view and it was well worth the climb. I like how you have used the trees as a frame.
