Description

Another shot from the Tlaquepaque shopping mall in Sedona, Arizona. This place is less than 40 years old, so any impression of great age is all about illusion and marketing. They did a great job making it look authentic. It's pretty fabulous! (The color shift is postwork.)

Glad we saw this in April in 75 degrees rather than now at 105-110 degrees. Beautiful treatment of the adobe texture:)

It's a lot better looking than some of the Mall's around here.

You could have fooled me! 75 degrees is too much for me, your postwork has cooled it down a bit.

Splendid work on this Tara. we were only there for a couple of hours so I don't remember a lot about the place.

There is a shopping mall in Mystic, CT like that! It tries to evoke the feeling of an old New England Village only everything is too new to actually do it well. Nice postwork on this Tara!

It certainly looks much older! If that is the way its built or your postwork, a very good job indeed! Beautiful picture Tata! Well done! Rob

A lovely capture of this entrance, so different from other malls. It does have a lovely mellow look.

Beautifully captured Tara. You just make me realize how little I have seen of Sedona. But I usually just drive through there(if I have to). Too many tourists for my taste and too much traffic, but it is scenic and there is some beautiful archtecture. And you found it. Great shot!

They did a good job making this place look old and interesting. Pricey place, though!!

I am impressed. Once, in Chicago (pre Prague) I saw a man applying corrosives to a metal sign outside of a snazzy, really expensive boutique: you know the kind, a Gold Coast kind of place where the air is chilly and oddly rarified and the cheapest item for sale has 3 or 4 digits before the decimal point, and it's something you can only wear once. The place itself was as new as the building housing it, but it was in antique drag. The corrosives were some kind of oxidation accellerant. A week later, the sign looked old and actually had rust holes in it. I was impressed. But I think that Chicago can learn a lot from the designers of this mall! The color shift is brilliant and it has me thinking about Agara. Hmmm...quite a lot has me thinking about Agara these days, and I suspect something has to come out of it. We shall see... ...anyway, I love this shot! I love the absence of people in it and the aged effect. Architectural rather than digital postwork? Nice! This really appeals to me. Oh, and in answer to a question you'd asked...yeah, that guy does have a kind of Corey thing going...the one next to him too, but maybe it was just the sunglasses.

Terrific image. Take out the handrail and it could be mistaken for something much older. Very clever design. It really invites you to explore. Excellent post work.
