Description

Marmoset are very small New World monkeys. They originally lived in Northeastern Brazil but through intentional and unintentional release of captive animals they have expanded their range since the 1920s to Southeast Brazil and can now be found as far south as Buenos Aires. Marmoset were first sighted in Rio de Janeiro in 1929 and have become an invasive species. Common Marmoset are very small, they range in weight from 236 grams to 256 grams and in length from 185 mm to 188 mm, males being the slightly larger of the two. The Common Marmoset has white ear tufts and a long, banded tail. This individual is a member of a family that lives on top of the Sugarloaf Mountain. This picture was taken on 20 June 2011, Sig...

I suppose there are people from other parts of the world who would consider squirrels and crows to be exotic, just like I stare at this little critter with my mouth open! To hear this is one of many, that they're everywhere, just boggles my mind. Thank you for sharing the world with us, my friend!
