Description
Well, I think this is the European Skipper, aka Thymelicus lineola. If I'm wrong .. let me know. It's just a teensy little thing, but so pretty. Seemed like everywhere I looked, there were a dozen of them!
We're packing up and heading for the Hollow today. Don't know for sure when we're coming back, probably 5 to 6 days or so, depends on the weather.
Of course this means there's no way of ever catching up, and I haven't even made to everyone's galleries yet!
Thank you SO much for the terrific comments on the previous post .. and for the faves as well. See you all when we get back. Stay safe, and if you're in one of those areas where the temperatures are sky high, stay cool.

I know moths are drawn to the light. So are bees & I have a massive hive 5 feet behind my house. A bunch of them were on my kitchen window at 4 am this morning when I was making coffee. I don't take pics cause the flash scares them, but they seem to calm down when they hear my voice. Weird, huh? Cool shot! ")

A wonderful collage of superb captures of this little fellow. I haven't seen one of these before with the double wings. I hope you have a great relaxing time at the Hollow and that you remember to pack the dog food. Seek out some more faeries for us to see too.

I couldn't tell ya if you have the name right, but I can tell ya this, where I come from that is a Moth, they have moth dust on their wings and it has been said through the years they eat your clothes, so, pack plenty of clothes cause you don't want to ride back in you care bare, have car trouble and end up hichhiking bare... yeah, I know this wild creature as a Moth - lol

A lovely collage Rita! I'll fly right over! ;)

Some pretty fancy aerodynamic engineering on that little fella, and you got some really spiffy shots of little Euro Skipper....sounds like a intracontinental, fairyland version of the Concord Jet. Beautiful and erudite montage! Further, I think we all understand if you don't "get caught up" around the galleries. Visiting friends around here is supposed to be a pleasure, not a burden, and you've got the Hollow to fill the days! Enjoy!
