Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

my mother washed clothes on a wash board until finally someone got her a hand crank wringer Maytag.I recall cranking it for her.when I went to the Philippines, I was surprised to see someone washing clothes where I was staying in a province on a big rock.wash boards was not a staple there yet and they had no knowledge of such outstanding subject and shot

At first sight I thought you'd been spoiling Tara with some 'new' gadget for the home :-) Tara's comment "Don't know were you found this" is probably just as well, if Tara had shot this from her unique perspective,it would probably be mistaken for a space shuttle or something :-) Great find and snap, scary to think I remember a twin tub and mangle from my childhood.....are we really that old!!??....

This is so cool...my mom still has her old (no way near as old as this...lol) ringer washing machine...I will never forget her getting clothes caught up in it and the dang thing makes this huge BANG and pops open lol This is so cool Bill. Bet my gram has used one of these babies!

WOW! I had to laugh at Rod...as I asked the same question: I love old stuff like this, from back in the days when everything had only one setting! And this is a woman-powered version, it looks like. This is amazing, an wonderful (and a bit chilling) glimpse into the past. It's ironic, we became so super sophisticated (technologically speaking) simply because of the dull drudgery of stuff like washing, ironing, washing some more, ironing some more and then, when time permitted, cooking and cleaning. No wonder we're so in love with gadgets now!

Going back a bit ... Should be worth a bob or two as an antique now!
