Description

Procure this vehicle! Captured 5/16/10, around noon, at the beautiful 16th Annual Muckenthaler Motor Car Festival, held at the beautiful Muckenthaler Cultural Center in beautiful Fullerton, California. Much better viewed via ZOOM. Top two pics self explanatory; third photo shows an oil lamp and what I believe is a horn below; and, if other vehicles of that era are any indication, the brass cylinder sitting on the running board in the fourth photo is probably the tank that holds the gas for the headlights. Finally, the last picture shows the auto, with the top removed, during a driveby of antique vehicles later in the day. I had difficulty focusing in this shot because the car was roaring in at a pretty fast clip. And, either humans during the early 1900s were very small, or those are really big dudes in the front seat, because they make the Buick look like a toy kiddie car. It looks uncomfortable in the front seat, and the steering wheel goes all the way up into the chest of the driver. You'll notice that the driver was gracious enough to wave at me while I was snapping the pic. It's nice for a photographer to be appreciated. Some pertinent information on this car is included in yesterday's posting. Ta-ta, thankx for clicking on, and for any and all favs and laudatory comments.

Right hand drive? Maybe this was setup to be an export model way back then? I am into old car/truck suspension lately...leaf springs, axels, tie rods, wheels, steering knuckles, etc., etc. Your photographs really show off all my points of special interest...and painted white no less! Well done.

It's another pretty thing; and people were smaller in the old days, pre-vitamin supplements and hormones in the milk and meat. A great collage, Harry; and the focus on the bottom shot is good for a moving vehicle!

Oil headlights...amazing. Yes, humans are bigger nowadays. We need a lot more room in cars. Back then I guess they were just a way to get places, and not built so much for comfort as the cars are today.

It's a fact that as a race we have all got bigger in the last 100 years. My father was considered tall at 6ft! Super pics of this cutie.
