If you walk off the ferry at Friday Harbor WA and find the first shady spot under a tree to your right, as you look out over the water to take in the panoramic view of the boat ride you just took, you'll find this. These nine bright-eyed youngs boys from a small town in Washington state- some 4,000 miles from Belleau Wood- would be happy to know that someone still lays flowers in their memory nearly one hundred years later.

Historic...and this was before there was a WWII. When this marker was made, no one knew to call this WWI. Like your highlighting these nine young men who never had the opportunity to grow old.
