I suppose I should change my bio from 'new member' since I wrote this section five years ago.
Can you spot the six things I love in this photo? For extra credit, list in them order of kickassedness.
P.S... One of the things is NOT a ridiculous mustache. It only looks like I have one. BIOHi, I'm Steve. I just deleted almost all of my gallery. A lot of fantasy stuff, 2D, Poser and stuff. If you're a returning to my gallery because you had favortited me at some point you won't recognize anything here.
I'm at a different place now, the old gallery just wasn't reflecting me so much anymore. I just picked up a camera while on leave in the states so now my gallery is a novice photographer. Wish me luck and constructive criticism is not only welcomed but encouraged. They don't exactly offer photography classes in Afghanistan so everything posted here within the next couple of months or so is going to be shots I took during my first two weeks with a camera.
And sometimes I write, too, so if you want to hear any of my big fat opinions you can check out my Artist Input section. Which usually don't have anything at all to do with art.

Generally we say Mt. Rainier is Visible, Floating, or Hiding. There is an inversion of clouds that make the base and surrounding mountains fade into the horizon thuse making the Mountain appear to float. This is ususally an afternoon thing. In the evening with a red sunset it's a Strawberry Sundae. You were - Southbound on I-5, just north of Boeing Field when you took that.

a beautiful place. an old story about Monterrey Mexico is a tourist told a local, you are so lucky.the local asked why?because of all the beautiful mountains, and the local asked where are they?

You are absolutely correct. The mountain is out. When we can't see it, there's usually no mention of its state. If it IS mentioned, we would say "Oh - the mountain's not out." "The Mountain" is always Rainier, even though we have plenty of other ones! I live closer to Mt. Baker than to Mt. Rainier, and I like Baker better, but still ... The Mountain is Rainier. The only inaccuracy in your statement would be about the traffic. Morning commuter traffic wold be bumper-to-bumper and heading into Seattle. In this view you're heading OUT of Seattle, so this wouldn't be the morning commuter view, it would be the afternoon view, only with a LOT more cars! (I haven't heard jaydee's terms of Visible, Floating, or Hiding, but that doesn't mean there aren't people who use those terms! I just haven't heard them.) Did I remember to mention this is a great shot? Very nicely done!

I have some wonderful memories of Washington, and Mt Rainier, I was up there for Christmas one year I grew up in California, and while I was in Washington I got to see my first white Christmas. Traffic looks pretty light for a morning commute, nice capture.
