Description

Inverness is a city in the Scottish Highlands, located on the northern end of Loch Ness and reported home of the Loch Ness monster. It is regarded as the capital of the Highlands of Scotland. It is the northern most city in the United Kingdom. The population of Inverness is 56,660 or 72,745 including surrounding suburbs. Inverness is one of Europe's fastest growing cities, with a quarter of the Highland population living in or around the city and is ranked fifth out of 189 British cities, for its quality of life, the highest of any Scottish city. I spent the day and all night in Inverness, for the 50th anniversary of VE day (Victory in Europe), celebrations and nationwide bonfires. Info from Wikipedia. 1995 photo scanned. Zoom works well.
