Description
Just one of several shots I took of the lovely variety of sea anemone, this one sitting amongst the coral and other sea life, captured 6/29/11, at the beautiful Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in semi beautiful San Pedro, California. By semi beautiful, I mean attractive beach and beachfront property, but a second world downtown area at best.
Picture taken using the aquarium setting on my Canon PowerShot SX20 point-and-shoot camera, followed by extensive postwork.
Most ZOOM worthy.
I was tempted to include this in a collage with other anemone pics, but then felt each photo would distract from the beauty and impact of the other, numbing their individual appeal. A spinoff from information overload, if you will.

And since there are several varieties of these lovely animals, if one in particular can't be identified, would it then be considered an "anonymous anemone?"

I have, of course already looked at your recent uploads (except for peeling paint as I have been on a commenting marathon today) and I remember my reaction when I opened this one. I showed my vocabulary skills with an "Oh, cool!!!" But now I'll elaborate on what brought forth this somewhat limited (but heartfelt) reaction. I love blue, and here is blue with rainbow tones racing across it. Blue with tenticles that wave such a happy greeting to me, that I even waved back. I like the way some of them are curled and other cast shadows. The red lines of the coral(?) make a wonderful contrast of shape and color. I'm glad you left this one on its own. Fantastic shot!
