Description

Finally!!! Lady Tara, I am so sorry it took me so long to get this done. It took forever to get everything together and then I had to wait on files from my old pc to be able to do anything. I know its a bit wierd for a card so heres why:-) The top image is a photo that I took of pieces of stained glass that I arranged on clear glass just to get some simple shapes. Theses are pieces that I cut more than 7 years ago and carted to NY with me. Some pieces have gold foil that I used before soldering, some pieces have lead that I soldered and then tore apart. Most of the small pieces are butterfly wings, others are kaleidoscope pieces (long thin stips and mirror strips) and others just miscellaneous. I can no longer do stained glass as my hands are far to shaky and I no longer have my tools, so this is the best I could do to create a kaleidoscope for you. Wish I could have made you a real one! Hope you like it a little:-) In the photo, the one image was my attempt at a free form iris, another resembles a beta (one of my fav fish) and the rest are just whatever you think they are, I just placed them over and over until I was satisfied with the overall shapes. Best viewed full size A very Happy belated birthday to you, I hope it was as grand as you are! And...I will try to be on time next year!!! P.S. Thru your eyes I learned a new way to view glass and light. Thats why I chose the stained glass for this image. Thank you for inspiring me and for teaching me a new way to view things. Now I look for reflections everywhere I go:-) I wanted to light it from behind but could not find a way because it had to lay on a flat surface. So I removed the background and added a gold one to give it more light. I wanted to put your name in the center but have no tools at all now to cut and grind the glass. Anyway, I spent months looking for the box where the glass pieces were and a week rearranging the glass until I was satisfied with the shapes.

Very beautiful stain glass and manipulation. I love the patterns made by the sharply defined white lines and the brown lines. Beautiful colors! I like the turquoise and the yellow has a lovely delicate glow. Marvelous stain glass, kaleidoscope and dedication! Lovely to see a post from you!

I am so happy to see you here! I have thought about you almost every day and wondered how you were. The stained glass is gorgeous. I used to do a mock version some years ago with stained glass paints and a special faux lead piping. I never had the touch for the real thing... Gorgeous work and, again, so happy to see you!
