Description
This image was intended for another use, which I hope to be able to do later, but for now it seems fitting that I use it to say goodbye to my Render friends. I haven't been here for quite awhile but now it will be even longer than I expected. Some of you know that we were waiting for the 'other shoe' to drop and now it has. Without any warning we were issued a 30 day eviction notice on Nov.2nd, so we are packing and looking for a place to move.
I knew this would happen eventually because the owner was not taking care of repairs and the house is falling apart at the seams. It took on a twist that I wasn't expecting tho...The owner offered me this house and another where the maintenance man works for $10,000, hmmmm! And when I said I did not have that kind of money they asked if I was interested. To see what was going on I said yes but that I could not afford that kind of money. They asked what I could come up with for both houses and just offhand I said $1000. They accepted that offer for both houses ($500 each). Knowing that they think I am a stupid woman I said I would see what I could do. In the meantime I spoke with two other landlords here who told me to find out the property taxes, the mortgages and any arrears. My thought was to accept the offer just to buy us a little time, told them I would have to gather the money together from friends as I didn't have it. Then I put my daughter on the phone to talk to the attorney to try to get full disclosure of the costs. What we found out was that he is $27,000 behind on taxes and of course 6 years behind on payments on both properties. Once the lawyer told us that he is no longer talking to us, gee I wonder why! Foreclose is imminent but we still have to get out by December 1st.
I have to tell you that I am extremely angry, this time of year is cold and there are not many places available to rent in the price range I can afford. I have had to put off extremely important medical tests and my stress level has reached an all time high. There is no money to move on, so we have to try to find assistance for that too. But even worse, the maintenance man's wife is in the hospital dying and he has nowhere to go and now has to take time out from being with her for all this. We both have given this man dedicated service, 6 years for me and 8 years for the maintenance man and this is the thanks we get. Tomorrow we all are going to legal aid to see what can be done but I don't hold out much hope there.
So anyway, this is my farewell image until I don't know when. The image represents for me at this time the coldness of this man's heart. He could have held out till spring but chooses not to...by the way, he is in insurance, Nationwide Insurance to be exact, and since I have seen it before here, it would not surprise me to see this place go up in smoke, just have to hope I am out before it happens...
I wish you all a warm holiday season and hope to see you in the near future. I wish you all good health while I am gone and thank you for having been there for me all these years. Many blessings to you!

I was first happy to see a post from you and now I am sad to see this one. My best wishes are with you, Alex, your maintenance man and his wife. I wish there were more I could do. I keep you in my thoughts, Lynn and hope to hear that you have found new lodgings.

Gosh, Lynn! What an evil man he is to be sure. Like Lucinda I thought Whoopee! and then such sadness. It is a good thing that your daughter is there for a little support.

Lynn, sorry to hear of it all. It is certainly not the best season to look for a place to live in. I do hope things will turn out right for you.

Lynn, please keep in contact with me so I can know how you are doing and where you are. You will be in my prayers daily, and may God watch over you during this difficult time.

Oh Honey, I'm so sorry to hear this has happened! Even though you've known the day would come ... the reality is horrid to deal with. I wish you all the best, dear one. Remember to take care of yourself first. (Do you know that when you fly, they remind mothers: "In case of emergency, put an oxygen mask on yourself before you put one on your child.") I hate to think of you dealing with the weather on top of everything else. Dang. Check in, okay? Public libraries have computers you can use for free, so even if you can't post, you can keep in touch. Much love and light to you, my friend. I look forward to hearing a report of improved circumstances.

OHH MY!!! Lynn! I am so sorry you have to go through this. What an evil person he is. All my best wishes for you to find a cosy home in no time. Cheap and even better than this. Hugs.

I don't honestly know your full story, only what Rosy, my fiance, has told me.. I am shocked but then again I am not, at the total callousness some people.. Allot of people, especially those involved with 'money' don't give a damn about others.. I feel for you.. And you are quite right, the place will probably 'Accidentally On Purpose' burn down one night.. I pray you are not in it.. I wish all hope for the future, may it arrive quickly.. I send the maintenance man and his wife good wishes too.. Good luck.. Excellent shot.. Rob

I have no words to say how much I regret everything that's happening! I would like to help, but I don't know how! I hope you can find a good location as soon as possible and you can also return soon here at Renderosity. I wish you well, dear Lynn... you will always be in my heart and in my thoughts! A big hug!

Lynn, Like everyone else, I was thrilled to finally see another post from you - and then sorely disappointed to hear about this latest twist in your life. Wish I was in a position to help, but I'm still struggling to keep my head above water myself. I just keep reminding myself (and will remind you, too), that everything, no matter how bad, always happens for a reason. Whether we like it or not. Whether we think we have the strength to deal with it or not. Somehow we always manage to pick up the pieces and keep on going - and I have to believe that there is a happy ending somewhere (in perspective if nothing else). Please try to maintain a positive thought and keep looking forward to a rosier future. I know it's out there for us - somewhere, someday... Much love to you - will be praying for a great outcome. Do stay in touch, I've missed hearing from you. Hugs -- Susan P.S. Awesome capture!

wow, very impressive shot! I am soooo sorry to hear such bad news!!! My heart goes out to you... 'however' things come unto our path and the reason might be that a wonderful place awaits you!!! (and you don't need evil people in your lives!) I can understand your anger, but please have confidence & trust that all will well!?? ('trust' being a keyword in my 'native world'!!! ;-D -seriously tho!-) Great co-incidences 'happen', could be this instant?!! Wishing you the very best of luck and a wonderful HOME!!!!! Take care!!! Hope to 'see' you soon with great news!!! :-D

Lynn, You kept jumping into my thoughts lately and I told myself not to panic because I hadn't heard from you in so long...to relax and wait a while longer because I knew I'd hear from you. I just had no idea I would hear this when I did. Oh, how I can feel your heart squeeze and see your eyes fill with tears. I feel the anger you have and the fear buzzing up my spine. How horrible this is - at any time of year. I worked in housing construction for 5 years before moving on to working governmental relations in the housing industry the past 25 years - both rental and sales. This type of thing is what gives landlords such a bad reputation. The few out there that screw tenants are louder than the many who go a step out of there way to help their renters. Too bad we can't burn evil landlords at the stake like they deserve for the pain and suffering they cause good, innocent people. You keep my rendo email address and site mail address and let me hear from you when you figure out what you will do. I will worry constantly until I know you are safe. Especially knowing your health issues as I do, this will weigh heavy on my heart. As for this photograph, it is very expressive and conveys exactly what you wanted it to. Well done.
