You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia, if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !** that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

A really beautiful capture of these lovely flowers Brigitte.

They are spectacular!! Very prickly, but beautiful. Our 'summer' is a bit of a disappointment so far. The school holidays have just started so we expect alternate rain and heat on a daily or even hourly basis!

A feast for the eyes. The frequency of flowers and signing off their gracefully shaped leaves, that the flowers as it were embracing. It is a striking effect. Looking at this, it is lifting my day, dear Sister. Hugs are going to the other site of the world, where, I hope Spring and happiness will arrive soon ♥ !

So, that's what that species is called. So pretty and prickly. I found the same flora growing profusely in our local botanical gardens and always wondered what they were. And, Brigitte, our summer here has been rather normal up to this juncture, with varying warm temperatures, and on-again, off-again overcast mornings. Of course, the upcoming August, September and October months are often wrought with super high temperatures and wildfires in the hills.

Be careful what you wish for Brigitte. For the last few weeks much of the U.S. has been suffering drought and temperatures above 100 degrees. These are beautiful images, especially the upper photo. Excellent composition and light.

A wonderful presentation of these lovely captures. The flowers are so beautiful and make a super splash of colour in your garden. It was quite a shock this morning to have the snow here, thank goodness the fire has plenty of wood. I hope your spring comes quickly for you.

I'd love to have some of your winter. We've had so many days with highs of 100F or more, and not likely to improve for at least a month. Beautiful images! Wonderful detail, composition, and light. I like the difference between the two. The top image is a very elegant composition, with beautiful and simple lines. I like the texture of the underside of the leaves. The bottom image is glorious and rich, with the leaves and blossoms dancing with the light. Wonderful detail, composition, and light.
