You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia,  if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess  I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !**                                              that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

Always sad to lose an old friend. I don't bury mine, I've had 17 dogs and the garden would be a no dig area! I love this bracket fungus..what a superb specimen! I've just paid the tree surgeon ÂŁ55 BP for a lorry load of split logs, I do have an open fire!

Liebes Sisterlein this fungus made a great photograph. Stunning picture, as a beautiful green patch. You know, I'm so sorry for your lost. We too buried our beloved cats in our garden. As time passes, you think about the good memories, you can cherish it, all the years Monkey has been with you. Wishing you strength, and thinking of you, dear friend!

I wood;-) A fine specimen you have here... Always feel bad when someone has to part with an old friend...our dog is almost 13...we know her limit will most likely be 15...she still runs and plays...we enjoy her more everyday. And give her the respect due an older lady. She gets all the time she wants to read her pmail every day:)

Fun title, but actually see a rainbow, well a very squishy one ! Super macro and stunning details...WOW ! As for Monkey, she was the best cat ever and I'll never forget her and good times we shared...and she really did leave her mark, she always managed to walk through fresh concrete which I was working on, now sporting lovely cat tracks ! R.I.P. Monkey

Terrific capture of a fungus that looks amazingly like a wide brimmed sun hat, Briggette. Love the striated textures. BTW, when I read the title, it brought back memories of that legendary stripper of yore, Gypsy Rose Lee, who used a huge gauzelike fan in her performances on stage. And sorry about the loss of your treasured kitty.

I was very sorry to hear of the loss of your treasured Monkey. I hope you have lots of photos of her to look back on. This is a lovely capture of this little fan fungus too and I like the moss on it. I wouldn't burn this either as it is too pretty. We wouldn't be without our fire in this part of the world the heat pump isn't nearly as good.

Great find and capture, Brigitte! No I WOOD not burn this cute fungus! Yes, Jeff mentioned about your cat, it is always hard to loose a friend and family member...

A marvelous fungus with wonderful patterns and colors. I don't blame you for keeping it. My cat was nineteen. I used to joke she had more friends than I did. She's gone twenty-one years and I still miss her. I am so sorry for your loss. Monkey sounds like a great cat.
