Description

This is a Bristol Beaufighter, a British long-range heavy fighter modification of the earlier Beaufort torpedo bomber. Unlike the Beaufort, the Beaufighter had a long career and served in almost all theaters of the Second World War. It began in 1940 as a night fighter, then as a fighter bomber, and eventually replaced the Beaufort as a torpedo bomber. Thanks for looking and your comments are always much appreciated. Very pleasing picture although the chances of a successful torpedo strike in such choppy water is remote.

Excellent Tor-beau scene, if the torpedo doesn't get them, all the rockets will do the job!
