Description

here is a wip . I tried to get a finish painting but i took a lot of photos of another painting but i could not get a good shot. the lighting was not working as i put gloss vanish over it already. I read about matte vanish would cover small details of the painting and would never come back. I also read you can mix the two to get a semi gloss that is good. may try that nexts. Anyway I not finish here but like to show what I been working on all week off and on. must have around 20 hours or so in it and will have a lot more. I happy with most of the figure and working on the background now. I got to lighten up areas and put the green grass in other areas. I not going to work on the figure but the background for now so I can get the colors and see how the figure looks in it then. I know i need to work on the hand some and the next and put strings on the music instrument this was takeing at a civil war reenactment . go to one if you can . it nothing like you ever been too. even if you do not like war it still history. Plus no ones dies here thanks for looking and commenting and favorites

This is shaping up nicely.I heard that the heat wave is causing some problems at one of these reenactments. The wool uniforms must be uncomfortable.

At a Civil War reenactment? I've been to three of them already and have never seen a wip dude like this, Jock. Anyway, a cool rendition in paint with lots of neat textures. This is not easy to do.

This is amazing, even though it's unfinished. It's funny, I've been looking back in your gallery and so seeing you doing a painting now makes me think you're getting back in touch with your roots, artistically speaking. I really like this. I know you're still working on it, but I like what you've got so far...it looks almost finished to me. I love the figure and the expression on his face. Really nice!

this is your best painting from you that I've see to date, impressive... some shading and highlights would really turn heads. I see it's a wip, so I hope you share the final piece with us.
