Aix sponsa. These ducks have become rare because so many were killed for their colorful feathers. I found this one at Ina Road and the Santa Cruz River, in southern Arizona, USA. The duck on the left is a female Mallard.

Looking at the two of them (one of which I almost didn't see), it is easy to guess who's feathers get plucked. That is one beautiful bird.
